Damaged Girl is a memoir of pain, love, and healing. Part two, “More Than A Runaway,” creates a fully rounded experience to bring the story into an equivalent journey. Millions of people have experienced some form of abuse or trauma. This series/movie would allow the consumer to feel connected, heard, and not alone. Growing up on Cape Cod and Western Massachusetts was full of beautiful beaches and memories. If only dreams could last and all happiness didn’t end early. Victimized by nine, forced to fear the monster creeping in and out of our lives by the grace of god, things finally changed. Or at least we hoped. Doomed to have this monster follow in the shadows, it was only a matter of time before the miles couldn’t protect me from the man who hurt me. Life takes unexpected turns, and life can twist you up inside.
Damaged Girl is the first part of a series about a life full of ups and downs. Mental, emotional, and sexual abuse was no stranger to Elise. Her will to fight and continue to live even after suicide attempts, depression, and postpartum gives hope to young women struggling with finding their purpose and balance in life. This memoir tells the tale of a young girl growing up in Cape Cod and Western Massachusetts. A life of pain, love, and healing made way for an opportunity to change and be an accurate representation of what it means to look within and search for healing. Life is a journey of ups and downs; we all lose faith.
